    What’s more pretentious is the author’s idea that he has a monopoly on the definition of “world-changing.” Is it a crime to wish that somehow your application might help someone, or enable something? It’s like criticizing spending on basic research instead of poverty reduction, or welfare here instead of aid there.

    War, famine, and disease change the world in big ways. I think that there is beauty in endeavoring to change the world in small ways.
