One thing I’d like to see, which this doesn’t discuss, is some tests of UI sluggishness and lag (i.e., typing lag, mouse lag, etc.) while working in a modern VM environment. I currently have a dual-boot setup, but I’m trying to decide if I’ll use a multiboot setup or virtualization in order to get a Linux desktop on my next computer.
If you’re working through Vagrant+VM, though, it seems hardly noticeable. The biggest thing would probably be the 10-second difference in application boot time between the VirtualBox and VMWare Fusion/native.

@benaiah do you know how to test the UI sluggishness and lag? I’d love to add it to the article.
