A useful guide. I remember being confused about the difference between glTex* and glTexture* functions. It’s a pretty awful way to tack on a new convenience API but I can see how it came to be.
Yeah. I’m fairly surprised there even is a younger API. I just started DuckDuckGo’ing random OpenGL Extensions my command line returned, but I did not recognize and it let me to learning DSA.
I’ve been doing mostly fully bindless drawing by hardcoding data into my shaders, but this is a very pleasant middle ground.
