The natural evolution of most AWS users, at least the ones I know, tends to be:

1. Using S3 for file storage

2. Computing/Hosting on EC2

3. Realizing that the next step requires a huge learning investment

We’ve been doing a deep dive into learning the ins and outs of AWS at work, and this guide is fantastic. We have nine people spread across different aspects (I’m on the web team, we are focused on EC2, our DBA is focused on RDS, etc.) and have spent four weeks testing and learning.

Needless to say, half way through this guide and its fantastic.
