    It’s great to hear about the new contributor! I don’t have a use for Oil right now, but I always find your posts very interesting. I don’t have much to add, but I just wanted to say thank you for both exploring shell improvement and for sharing your progress so openly!

      Thanks, I appreciate the support :-) I didn’t expect it to be so much work, but I guess that’s normal for these kinds of projects haha. The help has definitely sped things up, and I think we will get more

      I hadn’t heard about Oil, but after some rather frustrating time spent writing bash scripts recently, I’m definitely interested in giving it a try.

        Note that there are two different modes

        • bin/osh is like a better bash. I think you’ll almost certainly have a better experience if your issue is the SHELL language itself, because the errors are more precise, and so forth. You can run the resulting script under bash too.
        • bin/oil is a new language, and it’s not quite done yet. So it’s possible to hit stuff here that could frustrate you!

        But I welcome feedback either way :)
