Great news. Hopefully the ability to force the embedded vendors to do recalls will lead to more efforts on their OS’s, libraries, and CPU’s in terms of security. Might be a trickle-down effect for the hobbyists. This already happened, although without the recalls, for the MCU’s used in smartcards that have all sorts of protections to use at low price. On software side, there’s already suppliers that charge an arm and a leg. Increase demand might bring in new I.P. at lower prices.
