    Anyway, today, confined to the house with my sprained ankle, I decided that the perfect was the enemy of the good, and that I should just finish the damn survey and put it up on the web, so readers can benefit from it before the march of progress (we hope!) renders it totally obsolete.

    So, forgive me this: the author decided, given that writing a perfect article is almost undoable with a reasonable amount of effort, they will settle for the simpler problem of just writing a good one but finish in a reasonable timeframe?
