I am wondering if we need a separate tag for ads too as privacy may not be a great fit. On the other hand people might start to use it to point at ads themselves rather than on content about intrusive advertisements, adbusting, ads using personal data (thought that would fit into privacy) etc.
an advertising tag could get dreadfully close to SEO (the horror!)
I would probably file that kind of thing under culture.
In a few years I’ll probably be just as mad about my toilet + TV as I am about client-side apps that break web functionality and poor streaming websites today.
Does the TV have an /etc/hosts file?
couldn’t you block their BS with your router?
The mind boggles. I haven’t owned a TV in about four years, and this isn’t likely to make me want to buy another. I mostly use BBC iPlayer or buy the films or TV series I want to watch. It means I get them a bit later, but I’m not required to watch them at a time that fit others.
