It’s curious how that situation is far from uniform in different countries. Post-soviet Russia quickly standardized on IBM PC compatibles among those who could afford them and ZX Spectrum clones among those who couldn’t. No one but serious retrocomputing nerds knows what a C64 or MSX were.
