I despair of finding an acceptable ultralight laptop in this brave new world of bad Macbook Air knockoffs with wide, glossy screens and junk keyboards.

So damn true. I’ve been jumping back and forth between an Air and an X series ThinkPad for the last couple of years but finally settled on the X230. I just can’t give up the trackpoint. Even though they changed things up a bit, it still has one of the best keyboards out there. Now if Lenovo just offered a high res screen.

This leaked a few days ago. Looks like Lenevo is finally jumping into semi-hires IPS screens, just as others are moving on to more retina like displays. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T440s-haswell-ultrabook,23428.html

Great news. Now let’s see how well can the linux/BSDs handle that battery life!

Openbsd gets half the battery that windows does on my t430s.
