    Good points, all. The author might also mention (and maybe sort of did in the first paragraph, but I’m not sure) that even if the unsecured device contains/does nothing important, hackers will still happily pwn it and use it to spam or break crypto or deedos better-secured systems.

      It’s strange how we’re all aware that governments are recording our every move online, but somehow no one thinks IoT might be related to their ability to surveil us too.

      Wouldn’t it be nice if we all had a microphone and camera in every room of our apartments, and governments just happened to have access to them all?
