      I don’t know why people keep leaving out the “artificial” part in artificial neural networks. They’re so far removed from real neural networks that the confusion would be funny if it wasn’t a mark of naivety and hubris.

        I think it’s implied nowadays; if you say “neural network”, that’s understood to mean the machine learning model, not to imply any kind of claim about brains. People who work on accurate simulations of brains tend to use other terms like “neuronal modeling”.
