VTune is pretty cool, but unfortunately needs a kernel module on Linux. When I used it last year, you either had to compile some old kernel or fix the module’s code for the current kernel. The officially supported distributions were all out of date at that point, I think. The Linux code evolves too fast for external kernel modules.
