Rust has a more distributed form of this: there’s “This Week in Rust”, and then projects also have their own “This week in” with more specific news.
It’s to the point where some people have been joking about a “This week in ‘This week in’”.

And the only one I can think of off my head would be the LLVM weekly stuff, though technically not a programming language.
