Searls-Briggs Type Distribution
I’m a FALT/INTJ, comment your results folks!
SLT/INTJ- I always find it interesting how many programmers seem to be INTJ
MBTI is not the end-all be-all, but the NTJ ability to see the forest and the trees simultaneously is immensely helpful in programming. You’re constantly moving between differently-sized contexts.
I doubt this is exclusive to NTJ, but there is a reason they are dubbed systems-builders.
Also, an internal survey was conducted at a fairly well known thinktank that found that 95% of surveyed programmers were INTJ. Selection bias and all that, but, wow.
If 95% of surveyed programmers are INTJ, then what about the INTP’s? What do they do?
FALT. INTJ/ENTJ here.
but why with mail address..
I can’t answer that question, but if you’re looking for an easy workaround, mailinator provides free transient no-account-needed email, e.g. here’s my result.
I always recommend 10minutemail.com for disposable email addresses.
So that they can email you the results. Google Forms is a great form builder, but it doesn’t let you dynamically populate the response view, IIRC. This is likely the lowest effort way to build the quiz while having a good experience for actually filling in the form.
…because this is a marketing gimmick. ;)
Also a FALT/INTJ. I think the economical vs thorough dichotomy is a bit bogus, though. I’m faster than most of my colleagues because I’m more thorough. :-)
SILT/INTP as well.
Am I the masterrace?
For less of a technical and more of a cultural one, see the Geek Code. (Warning: very dated.)
I like internet quizzes, I’ll admit it.
SILE/INTP for me.
huh, I’m FALT/ESFP
Some of the questions made me laugh.
Interesting that the distribution of classifications posted here doesn’t fit the image he tweeted at all! Where else is this getting play and what does that say about this community?
Another FILT/INTP here.
I got FALE (INTJ/P), but I didn’t really feel confident on most of my answers. Too much nuance. I think it fits though.
I feel like building the right thing is obviously more important than “building a thing right” even if I emotionally only want to build things right. I don’t know what that means for personality.
I don’t really like most code formatters because I want to make my stuff aesthetically pleasing, but also long functions fit my aesthetic fine.
FILT/ESFP (that said, I really hate MBTI ;) )
FINT/INTP. I see myself as less leery than many programmers but also not particularly naive.
FALT / INTP (but I am super Judgy about code style / practices in a way that I’m not about most things)
FILE, and surprised to end up on the tiniest slice of the distribution. And be the only one here so far.
Wish I had more to go on than a single-word description of each type axis… did I miss that?
Interesting quiz… where’s the interpretation though?
I ended up as FILT, one of two that is not on the graph. It only has 14 when there should be 16.
FANT anyone? Edit enfp
