I really, really dislike the first image. I hate the trendy idea that functional is what’s “next” or inherently “better”. if anything it’s older than most paradigms. That said, the actual text content is fine and useful, so I consider it a nitpick.
I had a very similar reaction.
Functional programming is very cool for some things, but sucks rocks at others. OOP programming, ditto.
Yeah, it’s really much more like a genealogical tree where OOP is its own branch that hopefully ends soon. ;)
It starts off pretty lame, but gets better as you progress through the series. It also talks about Elm a bit, which is nice.
