Most interesting because he was a computer researcher who was very aware that his research would have negative effects on society as well as positive ones: he actively engaged with these consequences, and took care to involve those most affected in the development of the field.

Also, his answer to ‘Does not what you have done belong in politics rather than science?’ is very good indeed. (And a bit too long to quote in its entirety. You can find it at the bottom of page 9.)
