    Interesting. Most people who seem to get over the threshold of learning the language seem to like it a lot. I never got there. Initially Rust seems like most other languages, you start out by doing exercises, and smaller programs, that all work fine. Then, you need to do real world stuff, and it suddenly gets orders of magnitudes more difficult.

    I myself got stuck in the swamp of lifetimes for a long time. I understood the concepts, and did understand how to use them, but it never got to a point where I had gut intuition for it. Lot’s of going back and forth with the compiler. Same can be said for async/await. I never got over that hill either. Finally, I left Rust behind.
