I’ve been using this workflow for a while and I absolutely love it. I tangle (generate) multiple files that have interdependent documentation. And don’t even get me started on configuration files. Generating all of it from one well-documented source is a real revelation.

I’ve used this approach for database exploration as well. It’s really handy if you need to squirrel away some commonly run queries that might not have an official home yet.
