Great news for “Real Programmers”!
A classic!
Is there any context for why C++17 is discouraged for a C++ compiler that supports C++17? I feel as if I’m missing something.
LLVM and clang are separate. This way, it would be possible to just have f18 and llvm, but no clang anywhere.
Oh, that makes total sense. Thank you! I was wondering if there was an implicit comment about C++17 support in clang or something.
new name for the project (e.g. flang or simply fortran)
Wait, there’s already a flang!?
flang
If you visit https://github.com/flang-compiler/f18, you read, “F18 is a front-end for Fortran intended to replace the existing front-end in the Flang compiler”.
