Yeah my first thought was “that’s an interesting direction to take”.
The name is super confusing because LMDB is already a fairly well known KV database library.
According to the gist the proto-Redis LMDB dates back to Feb 2009, the OpenLDAP LMDB traces it’s origins to this email from May 2009 and was released in 2011 (based on wikipedia)
The proto-Redis LMDB is not a live project but a historical artifact.
