I know there are some folks on lobste.rs who are interested in Pony, so I want to point out this is the first large Pony codebase that is publicly available:
This is exactly what I thought: it’s invaluable to have a working codebase of large project in a new language like Pony, thanks a lot – and congrats!
Congratulations. Happy to see Pony in large-scale use! :)
Thank you skade. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but it’s good to get what we’ve done so far out there.
What are the part of wallaroo which are released only under wallaroo community license ?
Initially we are making the core processing and state management portions available under Apache 2.
The resiliency, exactly-once message processing and scaling of a running application are enterprise features.
Our current plan, over time is to look for ways to move features from enterprise version to core. The info is buried in various parts of what we have but as was pointed out to us over the last 24 hours, isn’t immediately obvious. We are figuring out the best way to change how we present info in order to make it more clear at various points along the way.
