    Nice tips in there! One motivational thing I read somewhere, I believe it was one of the books by Robert C. Martin, is that instead of thinking (I am paraphrasing) “Uffff legacy code, I don’t want to touch it” you should think about it as “This is worthy challenge of my engineering skills, let’s see how good I am!”. So consider it an exciting challenge, because it indeed does require careful and quality approach, plus it can be very rewarding once you refactor such old/ugly piece of code.
