I thought that at first too, but the video was eye-opening. The UI is still very customizable and the you can see how some of the nice new UI features that were release the last half year were building up to this.
Anyway, it makes sense to me. Consistent UI across mobile and desktop. Neat!
If you look very carefully, you’ll see that the corners of the tabs are slightly rounder than in chrome. Or, as mozilla puts, it “Firefoxy — organic, friendly, and fluid”…
