I have finished the IoT t-shirt, taking care of things so that attributions no longer need to be displayed on the shirt. Unfortunately, for various reasons I can’t have the group order sent to my house. Does anyone want to handle distributing the t-shirts?

The other option is to set up a 0 profit fundraiser, but I think we will need a minimum of 50 shirt requests for that, not sure if there is that much demand.

Anyway, here is the shirt.

Probably a bit late for suggestions but:

    The Internet of Things
    A weird mix of
    mild convenience and
    major catastrophe

Felt the use of a contrasting word reads better.

I can change it still, I’ll change it before I start the fund raising campaign. ;)

I’d love for the second line to also be <“m” adjective> <“c” noun>.

        1. 1

Do you have any ideas for the adjective and noun?

          1. 4

            a marvelous confusion

            a mad cross

            a macabre compound

Actually, reversing the word order sounds nice too:

            The Internet of Things
            A confusing mix of
            mild convenience and
            major catastrophe

Agreed. In fact, I know one IoT company in town (meshify) that could probably retweet/signal boost this if we had a simple link to join.

            Gah, strings.

OK, so I just started going through the process to do a fundraiser, and they want me to make at least 1USD per shirt or they won’t print it. I have no clue why. @trousers since it’s your quote, do you want to set up the fundraiser and keep the proceeds for yourself (to do so, just click the “start a fundraiser” link on the t-shirt design page)?

do you want to set up the fundraiser and keep the proceeds for yourself?

Not really! Maybe donate any leftover proceeds to @jcs for running lobsters? Or just keep the 1$ per shirt yourself for your effort in putting the whole thing together?

              1. 3

Why not donate it to the BSD folks? Or FSF or EFF?

                1. 2

Waiting on @jcs for a reply about whether he wants the proceeds or not. I don’t want to start the fundraiser until I can say who the proceeds are going to.

No thanks, you can keep or donate them.

Why does everyone have to be so generous?! :)

Sometime today I will set up the fundraiser and send the proceeds over to the OpenBSD foundation.

I throw my hat in the ring for a shirt request, so that’s only like 49 to go.

          1. 2

And I as well, that makes 48?

          2. 2

            Tempted, but it’s US/Canada only

            1. 2

I could ship it along to another country, if you’d still be interested.

              1. 1

I think it’ll probably end up working out a little expensive anyways (30USD + ~50 shipping to AU)

            2. 2

I’m interested as well! Think that puts it around 45 to go?

              1. 2

                I am also interested!
