It seems to me that this is at odds with DevOps as outlined in The Phoenix Project which includes the characteristics outlined by the author, but also priminently features the removal of silos and the value of everyone in the organization being fully accountable for the success of the business.
Hmm. I sort of thought it originally meant combining the Dev team with the Ops team to produce what-he-said.
I know of one bunch where the Dev team is literally on the opposite end of the country to the “DevOps” team, with all the damage and disconnect that you’d expect from such a set up.
