I am in this and actually really loving it. I turned off all my github email notifications and now just going through the mobile app. You also get access to their new notifications UI on the web if you get into the mobile beta. That has also been pretty incredible to use. Nice work from the teams that did both features.
I’m looking forward to this. Even just for things like reviewing simple PRs, commenting on issues and admin for repos. Particularly if the app has persistent auth (in enterprise environments you end up needing things like VPN access to log in every few hours on web but mobile apps can keep their auth active for weeks).

I’ve always wondered why GitHub didn’t have their own mobile client. I’ve been using FastHub on Android, which is very capable.
