WhatsApp and Telegram have both billed themselves as secure alternatives to phone, text or email correspondence. For the most part, that’s true, the two are end-to-end (e2e) encrypted by default and because of this, your conversations are much harder to monitor by outsiders.
I thought Telegram supports e2e encryption, but it is opt-in and only works on mobile. Or is this confusion by the author about what e2e means? Or did they change stuff recently?
The whatsapp app can show you a message whenever a contacts key changes, but it’s not default. Go find it and set it!
