The title seems fine, I’m just not sure it belongs here. Yeah, we all know reddit sucks, but lobste.rs is a platform to do better rather than a platform to pat ourselves on the back about how much better we are.
I wasn’t convinced this story belongs here either, but amusingly enough I think it’s more on topic in light of your comment ;-)
If lobste.rs exists to be a less-sucky aggregator (than Reddit, HN, etc.) I think it’s important to consider what the other aggregators are doing well and what they’re doing poorly. That means these stories are important. Maybe they should be tagged meta as well?
On topic of the post: reddit provides probably the best example of terrible moderation you can come up with. If you’re going to go completely hands off with central policy you need to empower the moderators of each subreddit to run things as they please – the racist fucks can have fun being shitbags in their own hovels, /r/blackladies can keep them away and still attract meaningful contributions without having to go private/invite only. But the design of the system doesn’t let that happen.
That’s a good point—but if that were the topic, I still don’t think this would be the appropriate article to post, because this is only about how terrible reddit is, with no discussion of how it could be improved upon. That is, this link should be a citation in a discussion that’s actually posted here.

I guess it could imply that Lobsters is the subject of the story. I updated the title.
