For the record, I’ve down-voted this post for two reasons. First, it didn’t link directly to the post. (Those of us receiving the emails got the text body from a post on Jan 30, very confusing). Second, this post is an announcement made by Youtube about some changes they made. It’s not discussing design, why the changes were made or why people look at design the way they do. Its tags “web” and “design” are really only relevant by nature of Youtube being a website with some design.
