I feel like this is the kind of thing I would have taken exception to as a teenager in the 90s, right around the time I found Levy’s Hackers. It is, of course, spot on.
I came across this because I was reading Insanely Great by Steven Levy and came across the John Dvorak quote about the IBM PC-AT being “a man’s computer” (in contrast with the Mac). I did a search on that quote, and this came up. I wonder how things have improved and/or gotten worse since 1996.
