    They want to make it hard for you to access and share data, because code that were to do something reckless like call fopen is code that could run on anyone’s operating system, not just theirs.

    And if you go around recklessly inventing new things on your own, you might not need [them] any more.

    Near as I can tell, approximately everything in the world of computers that is terrible and makes me involuntarily pick up my keyboard as if I intend to suddenly wield it as a blunt object basically boils down to those two lines.
