The same talk was given at the Lone Star Ruby Conference in 2010, but this video is of better quality (although shaky in parts). If you’d rather see the RubyConf one, here you go.

Also, I’m not in total agreement as to the cost of testing (he says it’s effectively free), but I don’t think it detracts much from the main point.

    What a surprise! This talk is filled with humor, history and insight. Not at all what I was expecting from the title. Among the things I found most fascinating was that the paper most frequently cited to perpetuate the waterfall model of software engineering actually advocated that that model was, in its own words, doomed.

    Well worth the time to watch.
