I’ve been using the WSL half-heartedly for the past year and I’m happy with it (given my limited usage), but the filesystem performance is atrocious. I’ll fire up Emacs to do some writing and I notice the time taken to save a file. Best of luck if you run find or anything of that nature. I was using org mode to publish a project and it takes a long time to finish; my FreeBSD machine is much less of a laggard in that regard.
