    I love the sentiment that no matter what, the smartest people work for someone else. There’s a sense of cosmic justice when a company takes advantage of some BSD-licensed software, releases it closed source — then, unable to maintain it on their own over time, ends up with an inferior product.

    Rather than being forced to release source code because of a copy-left license, the invisible hand of market pressure encourages a company to contribute back to take advantage of community support.
