    Being composed of lots of lookup tables, this is an FPGA really.

      You nailed it. It’s still a clever implementation of the concept given it can use cheap, 3rd-party parts. The mind-blowing aspect of it for non-hardware experts is also good for getting more people to try a project to learn hardware. I’m keeping this one since it might have that effect.
