Will it change anything? Perhaps I am too cynical, but Peopleware has been out for decades and it advocated against (or at least preferred an alternative to) open offices.
I feel like for every article or study about open offices, MBAs see that Facebook built the “largest open office ever” and Facebook makes a billion dollars so they should do it too.
This is no large surprise, but I’m glad a major news org is reporting on this.
