I’m currently in between computers, temporarily using my iPad (plus keyboard and mouse) for the usual stuff.
Looking into the apps available for doing software development on the iPad is a pretty sad story… the machine is perfectly capable of running compilers and such, but Apple has things very locked down on that front. The machine, by itself, isn’t even capable of something as simple as putting together some HTML/CSS/JavaScript and displaying it in Safari.
It really bums me out to see projects like this locked out of iPadOS (without jumping through a lot of hoops). The iPad is so darn close to being a really good laptop replacement …
