I’m not a JS fanboy, but I do have to explain pretty often that JS is a real language and it’s quite useful to people who have very little experience with it or only have class-based programming experience. It gets old. There are tons of stupid things you can do in JS, but that’s the same for pretty much any language. Coding well in JS definitely takes a while, but it’s not as long as being well-versed in something like C++.
At the end of the day, it’s just another language. You don’t even have to write in it if you want to write web apps now with all the transpilers people have made.
