Looks like FIGlet still doesn’t have support for colour output, so I’ll keep using TOIlet for my MOTDs :-)
toilet --font slant --filter gay $(hostname -s) > /etc/motd
I use figlet "Your Message Here" | lolcat -f.
figlet "Your Message Here" | lolcat -f
Another fun one: fortune | cowsay -n | lolcat -f
fortune | cowsay -n | lolcat -f
“Show”? Are you the author? I thought the show tag was for showcasing one’s own work.
Oh, no, I hope I didn’t cause any confusion there. To my the “authored by” + “show” says that I’m the author. I just posted it because I found this program after looking around for it for a long time, and hoped I could help someone to spare them the search.

I can’t help but notice the kerning is off on that (the C and the O are too close together compared to the rest of the letters). ;-)
Years back, someone on IRC told me what kerning is, and now I can’t NOT think about it. Ack! :-)
Kerning - once you see it you can’t unsee it (even if sometimes you wish you could).
don’t forget cowsay… and ponysay.
< foo >
Cowsay is fun and comes with some even more fun alternatives to cows, but my god I hate that Ansible will use it by default if it’s installed.
Emacs artist-mode also uses figlet for drawing the text as well.
Ahh FIGlet, i still use to for displaying the name of the box I’m sshing into via the ssh_banner.
figlet and cursive! I have not thought of these programs for over 20 years.
And in the end I wrote a post about cursive.
