    The benefit of parse, as far as I could ever see, is simply that the infrastructure is someone else’s problem, allowing app developers to focus on the app itself. So, running your own infrastructure… well, you get a simple API, but now you have all the operational headaches as well.

    Maybe running this (or the actual parse server they opened) on one of the many PaaS’s is good enough?

      btw, FB has also announced a Parse-compatible API server based on nodejs and express (BSD license). It seems that users are happy with this one as well
