    I’ve used “signatures” feature of macOS/iOS for several years. I think it’s a perfect analogy for a lot of macOS features: Very usable, works reliably, and yet almost no one knows about it.

    The online services I’ve seen didn’t work the way the article describes - they’d capture an image (usually using Flash back in the day) like macOS/iOS does, and then add it to the document to be signed.

    Why anyone would think it’s OK to convert a hand-written signature into a font, is beyond me. How anyone’s signature could actually be rendered as a font and still look even close to the original is even more surprising.
