    Off topic, but the currency conversions in this article are hilarious because they appear to be based on current pounds and dollars and the current (roughly) exchange rate between them. I bet they are the result of an automated system of some sort. For instance, £20,000 would, I think, be worth at least several hundred thousand dollars today or perhaps more, depending on how you want to measure it (which is actually a very difficult problem), not $30,000 as the article states. Which actually brings into question the original number in pounds, at least in my mind. Anyone who has read Pride and Prejudice should have spotted the error easily… :-)
