Over the last 17 days we’ve had 700 responses to the survey which has been fantastic! 🎉

Lots of current users and those that have experimented with Guix giving us a range of opinions on what they loved and found difficult. Also a lot of contributors who’ve spend their time crafting the distribution. We’re going to leave it up until Sunday (1st December) and then we’ll start reviewing the data.

If you haven’t taken it yet - NOW is the time 🤓

I don’t feel I can, because I’m neither a user nor contributor. I would like to be, but I’m stuck with Nix because Guix doesn’t run on MacOS. (The only platform supported by my employer.)

FWIW Nix the system is OK but I dislike the Nix language and would much rather use Guile.

I wanted to use guix to manage a guile project on OpenBSD, but I never managed to get it to build.

Ultimately I started using chicken instead, but I’d like to try to build guixsd for my pocket reform when I get it.

I’ve been curious about the prospects of running Guix on a BSD, please share if you happen to get something working :)

Will do, probably wont have time to check that out until next year. My main motivation is to be able to use guile with the spritely institute’s goblin library.

I would give Guix a try if it had a guix-darwin port, similar to nix-darwin. My past conversations with guix people suggest that’s unlikely to happen, though.
