Not the author (though I’m mentioned in the acknowledgments, dramatis personæ, and references), however, I work closely with one of the authors (the other sadly passed away) and can forward any questions or comments.
I just wanted to say that I enjoy hearing your comments and thoughts on the Array Cast Podcast, thanks for all your contributions to array programming!
Amazing. We’re a small business, and it really feels like a family. Everyone burns for the shared mission, so we don’t need micromanagement or even much oversight of work hours. Everyone is heard regarding business direction, product design, and hiring. See also the last paragraph of every Employee Spotlight.
I was writing APL for money, working at a major client of the Dyalog for ~10 years. APL is super powers for financial sector, and thinking in vectors and ranks is something that still improves my prototyping in data engineering area using any stack.
Working with Dyalog was always fun, even though I couldn’t miss the thought that they are constantly missing the train of the modern development practices just enough to be uncomfortable to use widely.
It’s so sad to hear that Roger Hui passed away (and John Scholes is being equally missed, he was just a marvel of a man!). I hope the magic iversonian fire is still burning in some shape or form, providing more power for vector programming.
Oh this looks really nice, thanks Adam! Also missing our smalltalks while user meetings — would love to visit again, but this is for “after the war” list of things.

Do you work at Dyalog? What’s it like?

The fire is definitely still burning. See https://apl.wiki as a portal for all things APL.
