I’m blind in one eye and can’t see 3D. I don’t know that I should bother to write code for a dimension I’m not really gonna use.
Seriously, though, this is fascinating. I am disappointed that I can’t really appreciate it. :(
Both my eyes work, but I’m stereo blind.
All my life I thought I was doing something wrong when not being able to see those magic eye cross eye 3D images. Turns out, I couldn’t. Also 3D movies have no upside and I’m the single worst person at darts.
So let’s together appreciate what other’s can’t: We both can disable 3D rendering in VR games and get twice the performance and it isn’t any less real :P
What happened to your eye, if you don’t mind me asking?
Don’t mind at all. Malformed optic nerve, so my brain just ignores it. If I shut my good eye I can get some visual input, but all of it is like what you see out of the “corner of your eye” (at least, it looks like what I see out of the corner of my good eye…). I can’t “focus” on anything in that eye, basically.
That sounds similar to what I have in my left eye. But I have a bit more vision than what you’re describing.
