Mirage, and the unikernel idea in general is the first thing I’ve seen in the current trend of “single-service virtualisation” that really interests and excites me. I think it’s a real shame that there’s not more going on in this space, and I’d love to see the same thing being done (and supported) for a “memory safe” language more people already know. such as Java or C#.
i’m kind of glad that this is not being done in java or c#; the openmirage unikernel might finally be the killer app that propels ocaml into the mainstream.
