So fairly historically accurate, then? (To be fair, while I may have used an IBM PC of that vintage a few times, I don’t have any specific memory of the beep, but it doesn’t seem that far off for later hardware.)
I don’t care if it’s historically accurate or not. A 100% volume square wave is not what I want to hear.
How did the original PC speaker work? How many volume levels were available?
Doesn’t make “unmuted by default” less bad.
