This was the closing talk at ClojureWest yesterday and one of the conference highlights for me.
I picked up fluid analogies a while back. It is a fascinating book with a break-down of copycat (Mitchell’s program) and related programs. The book outlines a fascinating, alternative vision of what AI could be.
I find it remarkable that despite Hofstadter’s fame through Godel-Esther-and-Bach, his “line” of thinking seems to be sadly neglected. It is nice to see a project which seems aimed at integrating the various lines of thinking.
