I’m becoming more interested in Go, I didn’t really look at it before since it seemed too Google. It looks like it has more open source roots now.

It has been, though I expected Google to have controlling interest. Instead of “open source”, a better phrase would have been community driven.
Right. Android is open source, but not at all community driven.
